This day, y’all. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever seen a happier couple than Adam and Karla on this past Saturday. Rich with tradition, a packed reception with family and friends, and the happiest, glowiest bride. (Is that even a word??) Nothing could top it.
Adam and Karla met a few years back at the county fair (the same place her parents met!) Adam was helping out with the pig scramble when Karla noticed the nice, big veins on his arms. (Is it obvious she’s a nurse? ;)) At the following auction, Karla made her way over to his table and the rest, as they say, is history.
Karla’s mother is an extremely talented seamstress and made her wedding dress as well as many dresses for her sisters and family friends. So it only made sense for her and Karla to make Karla’s wedding dress as well! (Side note: Is anyone else insanely impressed by that?? I can’t even hem a normal dress, much less sew an entire wedding dress!!) After about a year of dress making and wedding planning, all of Karla’s dreams came true as she walked down the aisle to her soon-to-be husband!
Their ceremony, along with their reception was filled with loving family members and friends who care so much about Adam and Karla and their marriage! During the reception, the DJ did an anniversary dance and as a wedding photographer, I have seen plenty of these, but none like this! When the DJ announced “20 Years!!” there were still at least 15 couples on the dance floor. By the end of the song, one couple remained and as he swung her around, she stated they had been married for 62 years! I was moved by their relationship and the amount of love they shared and touched by the example they and all the other couples there set for Adam and Karla.
Adam and Karla, your day was truly special. I am so grateful you invited me along to play such a small role and witness first hand some of your most treasured memories! I hope y’all are having the best time in Tennessee and I wish you the best in the future! xoxo, andrea.
