During my busiest season of the year, I scheduled an interview to become a Rising Tide Tuesday’s Together leader for a new Wentzville chapter. I ran up to the upstairs bathroom (TMI? Maybe.) to take the call with Ashley, the midwest regional director. The truth was I had no idea what I was getting into or what being a leader entailed, which I shamefully admitted to Ashley during our interview. At the end of the interview she was giving me the logistics on the new group setup, Facebook groups, dropbox folders, email lists, and then she ever so casually mentioned a leadership retreat in San Francisco. To which I, not near as casually, freaked out.
I didn’t really know what it was or what it would be like, but it sounded cool and was in San Francisco so I figured it was freak out worthy. And boy was it. The retreat was actually smashed in-between my family ski trip in CO, which caused a lot of questions, but that’s beside the point. When I got to the Honeybook offices on Monday morning I had never felt more welcome in a space. (A really trendy, hip space I should add… You should see their office. I honestly don’t know what stops their employees from just instagramming all day.) The founder, Natalie Franke, was there to welcome everyone with hugs and welcome bags as they came in. Every tider there was extremely friendly and willing to share information on their Tuesday’s Together and business successes.
Honeybook and Rising Tide put together a pretty sweet schedule with keynote speakers, team building activities, 5-Minute fuels and workshops. The 2 day retreat was packed full of information on being a successful leader and business owner and gave us plenty of room to recharge, be creative, and have fun with new friends. I am so thankful I was able to attend and can’t wait to see how our Wentzville group makes waves in the future!
If you are a Wentzville area creative please let me know! We would love to have you join us at our next meeting! XOXO!
